Rainin. Actually, trainin. Series of squalls comin in one after ‘nuther like boxcars in a freight train, each droppin a big ol’ load of water and then movin on.
Weatherguessers say it’ gonna go on for ‘nuther 3 days or so. Last time this happened, the soil got soaked, the ditches got blocked, the streams got full, and the house got flooded. Trust me, guys . . . that AIN’T a good thing.
Oh, well. Nuthin I can do ‘bout it but gripe and wait it out. County came along and scraped out the major concrete run-off ditch that drains this little flood plain of ours behind the barranca ‘tween here and the gulf.
Also, the undergrowth and overgrowth of the natural stream the ditch empties into on the other side of hiway 98 has been cut back, so there won’t be any branch and litter dams buildin up on it this time the way it did 4 years ago.
Can’t go for a walk in this slop, tho . . . just gotta sit here and moan about the quality of the programming on our TV setup – especially when the signal is lost every freakin time a raincloud comes along – and wonder what in the HELL is wrong with people who see the lowest unemployment rates in history, a booming economy, the EU actually being reasonable about tariffs and NATO funding, China’s economy in a bear suit, and Li’l Kim tryin to act like a normal human being and say, “We just gotta change all this!”
Every time I sit quietly and try to analyze the problems we have today, it all goes back to the opportunist Slick and his felonious wife, then takes a nap for 8 years with the loyal but oblivious Dubya, and picks up again full-steam with the un-American fraud Soetoro and black supremacist Holder.
And as for the cause celebre’ du jour, collusion, I’m not exactly sure I get it. How did collusion morph into some kinda giant hideous beast from the primordial ooze that hides out in our anxiety closets when the direct result of the 2016 election, no matter WHO “colluded” when with whom about what has been almost pure progress?
I haven’t seen anything that says it’s even illegal in politics unless actual tampering with registration roles or ballots is involved. The only real collusion I see pertaining to the last genelec was by Dummycrats making repeated ludicrous trips between foot and mouth while stealing votes and delegates from the guy from Vermont who combs his hair with a possum.
But according to the mainstream media . . . that unbiased bastion of objective journalism which shields us against corruption and scandal and bad leadership . . . DJT is a danger to free speech because he insists on exercising his right to use free speech and making end runs around their spin machines by going directly to the people via social media. Hell, when FDR did that, he was considered cutting edge, almost godlike by being so omnipresent and concerned about averidge Murkans.
Now as for me, when I spray my thoughts and opinions onto the screen and then scatter them into the aether on e-mail, I’m not trying to educate the ignorant or convince the closed-minded to change their minds about anything. But I hope that the ideas I dress up in various outfits with satire and snark and silliness provide a note of encouragement to people who CAN think clearly that they’re not abandoned in some political wilderness.
ABCNNBCBS and the rest are just leftist propaganda tools, little more than last year’s dried-up cornstalks swaying in the steady toxic wind from the swamp. Goebbels would be SO proud.
In many ways, Trump has become the salt and pepper on the steak and eggs, the butter and jam on the English muffins, the sausage gravy on the buttermilk biscuits, the hot fudge topping on the French vanilla ice cream . . . and the left can’t figure out why their steady diet of saccharine censure, nutrasweet needling, gluten-free grudges, overcooked outrage, and faux faultfinding isn’t raising CNN’s ratings from the sewer where they go to bathe.
Good grief! A Hillary Clinton PotUSy with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer as her Goebbels and Himmler would have been an evil kleptocracy backed by a drooling idiocracy and a classic hypocrisy.
Hillary Rodham, a failed attorney known only because of her relationship to an impeached philandering PotUS and a series of meaningless but disastrous decisions while in public office, is the very reason the Electoral College was created, and The Swamp is the reason the Preamble was written.
And Soetoro is the perfect example of the paradox of how education has become the primary obstacle to intelligent reasoning and mature thought, schooled FAR beyond his mental capacity and capable of little more than reading words prepared for him by others . . . in other words, an actor, a puppet, a tool.
As for Ocasio-Cortez, the darling of the radical left, the “future of the Democrat Party,” how on earth did that person ever get a degree in ANYthing? A bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from Boston University? C’mon! Get serious.
The RNC should fund a speaking tour for her to wander around all the blue enclaves and share her vast knowledge and razor-sharp insights into how things work. She’d have dyed-in-the-wool moderate Democrats running full-speed toward the Libertarian and Independent camps.

It’s as if her game plan is based on the idea that this country has tried free enterprise and capitalism for over 200 years and all it’s brought us so far is innovation, invention, wealth, power, stability, and security. Just think where we could be if we’d given socialism a chance, like Cuba, or North Korea, or East Germany, or today’s garden spot – Venezuela.

Good example Ron. That reminds me of when I was on the USS Comstock, LSD-19 and ETN2 Evans and I were in the transmitter room working on an AN/WRT-2 (a great 1KW HF SSB and FSK transmitter). We had an Ensign trying to figger out what we were doing. It was always fun to mess with Ensigns. Ron started asking him for tools. “Screwdriver, wrench, sacratpertans.”
“Sacrat…what?”
Ron reached in and picked up sumpin’ from the toolkit. “This one. The sacratpertans.”
Meanwhile, I was trying not to laugh. I don’t know if he really believed that the tool was a sacratpertans or that we were messing with him. You often couldn’t tell with Ensigns. This was when I came to believe that one went to college to learn to be stupid. Over the years, I have not changed my opinion much. After all, the more education one has, the more likely that person is to vote Dimocrat. I rest my case.
