Sometimes the best deals are the ones you walk away from. That is what the carping Catos criticizing Trump don’t realize.
I once had a friend who loved to haggle. It took him over a month to buy a car. He loved screwing with car salesmen. He would storm off in the middle of a negotiation only to return a few days later. He was not afraid to walk away from a bad deal. He eventually got his price.
This something my CDSM didn’t understand. He wanted to support mainframe software education all over the world from our little data center in Atlanta. During negotiations with the Europeans he kept lowering our price as the Europe support people would do. I told him not to give away the farm since the Europe support could not compete with us. They had at least fifteen support programmers. We had five. Make a final offer and walk away. In a year they would come to us as the Europe folks couldn’t match our price. He wouldn’t hear of it. Asshole! Europe support won the contract but a year later said they couldn’t make money and Europe education came to us. I was gone by then so I couldn’t say, “I told you so.”
Everyone said Reagan was an amiable dunce, but he was willing to walk away at Reykjavík.
That’s what Trump is willing to do with North Korea and Obungler wasn’t willing to do with Iran. Kim Phat One needs this summit more than Trump does. When he started getting belligerent, Trump sent him a letter telling him the summit was off.
Isn’t it funny that the exact same carping Catos who were saying that the summit was a bad idea are the same people who are now saying Trump was stupid to cancel it? I get such a kick out of watching Trump troll these booger eatin’ moh-rons. And the Dimocrats and Never Trumpers? Trump is supposed to take advice from the same people who allowed North Korea to get nukes in the first pace? I don’t think so.
So now the summit is back on again. Like I said Kim Phat One needs this summit more than Trump. Don’t be surprised if Trump walks away from a bad deal. He’s not so desperate for a deal. Kim Phat One is.
