So, I opened up the editorial page of the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation and came upon this column by Paul Krugman, who writes a column for the New York Slimes (Motto: All the news that fits our views.). All you need to know about Krugman can be expressed in one word. Enron. Yep. He was an economist for Enron. They prolly followed his advice and we see how that worked out. Krugman lives in some sort of alternate reality where he accuses other people of lying by spouting outrageous lies like these whoppers from this column.
Think about it. Bill Clinton’s tax hike was followed by a huge economic boom,
Which was actually the continuation of Reagan’s economic boom fueled by tax cuts.
the George W. Bush tax cuts by a weak recovery that ended in financial collapse.
It did far better than the current economy which is the weakest recovery from a recession in over 50 years. This economy is being dragged down by Obummercare and the tax hikes to support it. The collapse had nothing to do with tax policy and everything to do with the liberal policy (and I fault Bush 43 for falling for it) of the gummint forcing banks to lend money to people who couldn’t afford the loans they were taking out. Banks redlined for a reason and it wasn’t racism. It was economics. I lay the collapse at the feet of the Dimocrat Party.
Now Krugman really takes a trip to Fantasyland.
The tax increase of 2013 and the coming of Obamacare in 2014 were associated with the best job growth since the 1990s.
WTF? What job growth is he talking about? If the gummint weren’t cooking the books and were forced to admit to the real job numbers that included the people who have given up looking for work and the people working part time who want to work full time, we are close to depression type of unemployment. Obummercare is a major league job killer. Krugman has written before that since the full implementation of Obummercare there has been very little job loss. Of course, he neglects to say that the job losses were before the full implementation of Obummercare as companies prepared for it. There were massive job losses and many people whose hours were cut to under 30 hours a week.
Here’s another whopper.
Jerry Brown’s tax-raising, environmentally conscious California is growing fast;
In what universe is California growing fast? In Krugman’s weird universe. California is a basket case and it is getting worse as Governor Moonbeam wastes money on a bullet train to nowhere.
Sam Brownback’s tax- and spending-slashing Kansas isn’t.
Not sure about Kansas but why doesn’t he compare California to Texas which under Republican policies has the fasted growing economy in the country. BTW Paul, Texas has no income tax. California has one of the highest (maybe the highest) income tax in the country. Yannow, like New York. Look at how well the Dimocrat utopia of Ilinois is doing. I’ll take red state economies over blue state economies like California (which is losing jobs and people to economic powerhouses like Texas), New York, and Illinois.
Here’s another Krugman fantasy.
I began writing for The Times during the 2000 election campaign, and what I remember above all from that campaign is the way the conventions of “evenhanded” reporting allowed then-candidate George W. Bush to make clearly false assertions — about his tax cuts, about Social Security — without paying any price. As I wrote at the time, if Mr. Bush said the earth was flat, we’d see headlines along the lines of “Shape of the Planet: Both Sides Have a Point.”
Evenhanded reporting? From the LSM propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party? I remember the 2000 election reporting and there was no evenhanded reporting at all. The LSM propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party hammered Bush at every occasion from their phony “gravitas” meme (Gore had it Bush didn’t) to covering up Gore’s gaffes while publicizing Bush’s. Gore was brilliant (even though he had flunked out of divinity school) and Bush was a moron.
Krugman is a serial liar who lives in his own fantasy land but what would you expect from someone who writes for the New York Slimes (Motto: All the news that’s fit to distort.).
