I guess you have all heard about the burger flippers at the fast food joints going on strike and demanding $15 an hour. They demand a “living wage”. And, of course, there are the liberals and the labor unions cheering them on. SEIU and the AFL/CIO both want to organize the low skill burger flippers. Just today, I got an email from the libtards at Moveon.org and it started off with this email from some twit named Nancy Salgado.
Dear Atlanta MoveOn member,
We’re mad as hell. And we’re not going to take it anymore.
Oh yeah? Whatcha gonna do?
Yesterday, thousands of workers in cities across the country—including Atlanta—went on a national strike against low pay. It’s incredible that they joined us. And it’s working.
Really? Have you got your raise yet?
By now, everyone knows that fast-food employees like me can’t make ends meet on $7.25 an hour or barely more. They know how incredibly profitable, and out of touch, the corporations we work for are. They know—you know—that something has to change. Starting now.
Actually, many of those fast food joints are franchises and are not owned by those “incredibly profitable, and out of touch” corporations. So you can’t make it on $7.25 an hour? Boo-freakin’-hoo! Whose fault is that? Maybe if you actually had some skills other than flipping burgers and asking, “Do you want fries with that?”, you would get paid more. You don’t even have to do simple math any more since your computer display tells you how much change the customer should receive. A third grade pissant could do your job. And you want more money? “something has to change. Starting now.” Yep. You’re fired! Have fun.
I’m on strike from my job at McDonald’s to demand fair pay for hard work. I, and others like me, need your help to get the living wages we deserve. Help us send the fast-food chains we work for a message that they can’t ignore.
And what is this “living wage” BS? Tell me Nancy, have you finished high school? Do you have any additional education? Is your ambition to be a fast food worker for the rest of your life? You’re paid $7.25 an hour because that’s all you’re worth in today’s market. Miss Market is a cruel bitch. Life isn’t fair. Yada Yada Yada Blah Blah Blah In fact, what you’re paid is prolly more than you’re worth. Your job is what is known as “entry level”. It is a low paying job that will give you skills to be more suited for a high paying job in the future. This is the first stepping stone for better paying jobs for many people. For you? Prolly not. You don’t sound very bright.
So you work hard? Bully for you. A lot of people work hard. Some of us worked three jobs, at less than minimum wage, while going to school to develop marketable skills. Some us us joined the military to get a technical education and money from the GI Bill to go to school.
Do you have any children? Some of the people participating in the strike say that they can’t afford to raise their children on a minimum wage job. If you can’t afford to raise your children on what you make why do you have children? JHFC! It is beyond my comprehension as to why people making minimum wage are having kids. But then, that’s why they are poor. They make bad life decisions and those of us who have made good decisions have to subsidize the losers.
I’m sorry Nancy, I’m not willing to pay $10 for a Whooper to pay you considerably more than you are worth. You are overpaid as it is.
Quit your whining loser! GFY!
