Woke up yesterday morning and looked out the window and saw it was raining. It would rain the rest of the day. Rain and temp in the 50′s. Miserable weather.
All I had left yesterday was a session with an OT (Occupational Therapist), talking to Ashley, the seating specialist about a new chair, and the final medical review. I got a hand mirror to check my skin (my old one that I got from Shepherd in 1988 broke when I sat on it a few weeks ago) from the OT and she’s ordering me a raised toilet seat. She asked me the name of my blog and I told her. I also warned her that I was a raving right wing loon, at least that’s what the trolls call me, and she might not like me after reading my stuff.
I sat down with Ashley and we selected a new chair for me. The really neat light weight carbon fiber chair I got two years ago broke, so this time we’re gonna try titanium.
I always like going to Augusta because it’s still a southern city. Atlanta has so many transplants that you can go days without hearing a southern accent, and of course, the news readers at the local TV stations all have what I call Midwest news speak accents. Not so Augusta. For the record, I like southern accents. My favorite is the South Carolina Midlands accent, which my sister’s mother-in-law, whom I adored, had. My BIL lost his in college. He doesn’t have a trace of south mouth. I also like the Georgia accent which you hear if you get outside of Atlanta.
I got out of the VA around noon and drove home in the rain. Fortunately, the traffic wasn’t bad so I was able to stay on cruise control for most of the drive. What is it with the milk shake machines at Mickey D’s? When I drive home from a trip, I often get a desire for a chocolate milk shake. I can’t believe how many times I stop to get one and am told that their milk shake machine is broken. What’s up with that? What’s wrong with them that they break so often? Anyone who has worked there know? What breaks on them? Are they that unreliable? Where’s six sigma when you need it?
